Staying active is important, but we can easily find ourselves sitting in front of the computer for much of the day. With many jobs requiring sedentary tasks, such as typing, filling out forms, and doing desk work, many workers find themselves sitting while they work.
Biological Results of Physical Inactivity

- Insulin resistance
- Changes in cholesterol
- Electrical changes
Work and physical inactivity don’t have to be the default; you can find ways to get out of your chair. Dr. Mike Evans encourages movement throughout the day and wants to end health issues associated with inactivity. There was a CBC podcast from ?The Current’ on work and physical inactivity.
It is important to build healthy movement into each work day. This can be through standing, walking, and moving around.
